We assume that you will use the web to find the set of private engineering colleges in your state or the country and depending on a number of factors you’d probably shortlist three or four at max. 

So, what next?

You should be contacting the admission department of those engineering colleges for the names of recent local alumni that are available to answer questions. Contact them and arrange to have a conversation where you can hear about their experience and ask pertinent questions. No greasing but the reality.

The faculty, syllabus, industrial visits, surveying tours, placements, internships, certification programs, the content delivered, exposure, etc., which a college remits are a couple of add-ons that a student must look for while joining any of the RTU affiliated colleges in Jaipur.

 While making list take care of the following things –

 1. Infrastructure - Since you need practical work and proper machines (devices, software) to pursue Engineering at its best.

One of the most important tasks before targeting a college should be to check whether it is approved by the designated regulatory body (AICTE) or not. Also, check whether the university it is affiliated with is approved by the UGC or not.

2. Internship and Job Opportunities:

One of the most important aspects is the placement records. Make sure to take note of the companies the college has tied up with. If possible, get in touch with the previously-placed students for better insights. In short, a private engineering college must offer good placement and internship opportunities.

3. Student-Faculty Ratio:

Faculty plays a key role in transforming a student into a skilled and employable engineer. Make sure that the college you choose has the best-in-industry faculty. Along with this, check the student-faculty ratio. The lower this ratio is, the better it is for your career and academic growth. According to the HRD Ministry of India, all colleges must have a student-faculty ratio of 9:1

4. Labs and Instruments:

Good infrastructure is important for practical growth and real-world understanding of engineering concepts and techniques. Hence, paying visits to colleges before admission holds all the more importance. Ensure that the college has well-equipped laboratories and instruments.

Check out the curriculum of the program that you wish to enroll on the website of your target engineering colleges in Rajasthan. For better learning and acquiring a market-ready skill-set, it’s important that college offers advanced curriculums. Make sure your targeted B-tech college in Rajasthan or Jaipur does the same.

6. Research Initiatives:

Another important facet you need to pay attention to is the number of research papers published by the scholars of a college. Such research initiatives give you an idea of how profusely the college encourages or promotes new ideas in the field of technology.

 7. Academic Support:

Be interested in colleges that provide additional academic support like the resume preparation, communication skills, personality development, group discussion, interview mock-ups, functional training, etc as per industry demands.

8. Exchange Programs:

If possible, try to look for private engineering colleges/ universities in Rajasthan or across state borders that run exchange programs with universities abroad. International exposure of things will help you grow not only professionally but also as an individual. Also, you’d be open to newer market opportunities.
